I have been asked to look for information on the journey between hanoi and lao cai..and of course between lao cai and sapa too. Below is the source in which i have found some answer to my question.

ok…i managed to get a reply from aurora travel, Here is the reply:

Day 1 (Wednesday, February 11, 2009): Ho Chi Minh City Arrival – Overnight train to Sapa (D) Our guide meets you at Noi Bai airport and escorts you to the city centre. You will then follow your guide to visit Hanoi Hilton prison and Van Mieu – Quoc Tu Giam (Temple of Literature). Then we are roaming to the old quarter (trade area) of Hanoi for looking and shopping. Cyclo ride through the old but busy streets should be highlight of the day. We then stop at Thang Long theatre for enjoying Water puppets show. 18:00: another driver will pick up the last member in your group of 8 and transferred him to join in yourgroup. In the evening, have dinner at local restaurant and then go to the train for an overnight train to Sapa.

Day 2 (Thursday, February 12, 2009): Lao Cai – Sapa (no guide) Arrive at Lao Cai Train station at about 6.30. Take a ride to Sapa. You will be free today in Sapa. Our suggestion is to walking or trekking around the town by yourself to stretch your legs, a good practice before climbing Fansipan. Overnight train in Sapa.

Day 3 (Friday, February 13, 2009): Sapa – Heavens Gate – 2900m (B/L/D) You are having a couple of interesting days waiting ahead. You travel by car toward the Silver Waterfall where you will be able to take a short walk to the waterfall. You will then drive further to Heaven Gate,the highest peak of roads in Vietnam. From there you can see Fansipan, the highest peak of Indochina mountains as well as enjoy stunning views. The trek will be relatively soft until lunchtime. After a couple of hours of hiking, you will have a break at a nice spot in the forest and enjoy a good lunch. With new energy you start ascending as well as descending towards the campsite. En route you have many opportunities to enjoy the scenery and magnificent views to Sapa area and beautiful landscape of Lai Chauprovince. You will arrive to the campsite at 2900m ASL in the late afternoon. Now it is time to relax and enjoy a well prepared dinner.

Approx: Grade 3 of 5/ 0,5 hour driving/ 5 hours walking/ 1 hour lunch.

Day 4 (Saturday, February 14, 2009): 2900m – the top of Fansipan – 2700m (B/L/D)After having breakfast, you climb to the top, where you can celebrate your victory. From there, you canenjoy the best view to beautiful sceneries. You will then start descending. You stop on the way at a nice spot for lunch. After lunch, you start the tough trek, which is all the way downhill through rainforest. This part requires a great concentration to step on steep trail until you meet the campsite at 2700m ASL. Here you spend another night in tent.

Approx: Grade 3 of 5/ 6 hours walking/ 1 hour lunch.

Day 5 (Sunday, February 15, 2009): 2700m – Sin Chai – Sapa (B/L) You wake up in the fresh and pure morning in wild nature, before heading back to civilization. You trek downhill through well protected forest and after a couple of hours of hiking, you stop for lunch. You will then continue descending toward Sin Chai village of Back Hmong minority. On the way you will be able to enjoy valley views and beautiful surrounding. You stop at the village for a while before you go by car back to Sapa, where you can celebrate your achievement and relax. Overnight in Sapa.

Approx: Grade 3 of 5/ 0,5 hour driving/ 6 hours walking/ 1 hour lunch.

Day 6 (Monday, February 16, 2009): Sapa free – Overnight train back to Hanoi (B/no guide) You will be free today in Sapa for relaxing until late afternoon when you’re transferred to the railway station for your overnight train back to Hanoi.

Day 7 (Tuesday, February 17, 2009): Hanoi (B/L) Arrive early morning (around 05:30-06:00) in Hanoi. You will be picked up to a local restaurant for breakfast and then depart for a city tour. We will go north to visit Ho Chi Minh mausoleum, His House on Stilt, One Pillar Pagoda, Tran Quoc pagoda, Army Museum and Hanoi Flag Tower. After lunch, you will visit the Ethnology museum and then transfer 5 members to the airport for departure flights. 3 others will be free at your own arrangement.

    hi,

    i am remi from malaysia. I am representing a group of 8 mount climbers. i would like to make an enquiry on a 7 days trip covering hanoi-lao cai-sapa and mount fansipan. basically, this trip is all about climbing mount fansipan and maybe some sight seing activities around hanoi and sapa too.

    the trip will comprise of 8 pax and it will be between 11 feb 2009 to 17 feb 2009. below are the itenaries:

    1st day – 11/2/2009
    arrive at hanoi on the 11/2/2009. 7 participants will arrive in the morning. ETA 9/10 am hanoi time. 1 participant will arrive in the evening…ETA 5/6 pm hanoi time. The 7 participants are expected to go on sight seing around hanoi during the day.
    we will proceed with the train to lao cai at night.

    2nd day – 12/2/2009
    will arrive at lao cai early in the morning. proceed to sapa. Is it possible to proceed to fansipan area / basecamp on this day?
    if cannot go to fansipan area on this day, then overnight at sapa.

    3rd day – 13/2/2009
    climb mount fansipan…straight to the summit. maybe will camp somewhere near the summit.

    4th day – 14/2/2009
    descent from mount fansipan. proceed to sapa on the same day.
    question: is it possible to get a train back to hanoi? if not, will overnight at sapa. if yes, than get on the train to hanoi.

    5th day – 15/2/2009
    sight seing in sapa. hopefully there are interesting things in sapa.
    proceed to lao cai in the afternoon
    will go back on the train to hanoi at night.

    6th day – 16/2/2009
    arrive at hanoi by train from lao cai
    sight seing hanoi ( please suggest activity / attractions )
    overnight at hanoi

    7th day – 17/2/2009
    sight seing hanoi during the day ( please suggest activity / attractions ).
    at 6pm 5 members will depart back kuala lumpur.
    that’s all.

    we would like a quote from you comprising
    - the cost of accomodation
    - the cost of transfer to and fro airport, train station to hotel etc. Please include the cost of the return train trip between hanoi and lao cai.
    - the cost of climbing permit ( if any ) and mountain guides. If you can provide the cost of hiring a porter, you are most welcome.

    this is what i got from the previous ogkl trip:

    Day 1. Wed 11/02/2009 ~ Airport – Ha Noi – Overnight train

    Pick up at the airport by Hoang Hiep and take private car transfer to Hanoi, check in the hotel. This evening you will be met by our driver & office staff at about 8PM before transferred to Hanoi railways station to take an express train departs from Hanoi at 9PM. Overnight on the train with at an air-conditioning cabin (8 beds) on the way to Lao Cai.

    Day 2. Thu 12/02/2009 ~ Overnight train – Lao Cai – Sapa Town – Silver waterfall – Tram Ton Pass – Top 2300M

    On arrival to Lao Cai in the early morning, you are picked up and taking a shuttle bus to Sapa. After having shower and breakfast, we transport you to Tram Ton Pass, on the way pass silver waterfall. On arrival at Tram Ton Pass we start the trek to mount of top 2300m. Lunch on the way. Late afternoon we arrive in Top 2300M. Prepare for dinner and overnight at a thatched hut with sleeping bag.

    Day 3. Fri 13/02/2009 ~ Top 2300M – Top of Fansipan 3143M – then back to top 2300M

    This morning, you get up early for fresh atmosphere in the high mountain. After having breakfast, we trek to the top of Indochina, Fansipan mount. Lunch on the way. Late afternoon we come back Top 2300m for dinner and overnight.

    Day 4. Sat 14/02/2009 ~ Top 2300 – Sin Chai village – Sapa Town

    After the last breakfast in the mountain, take another way to go down to the foot of Mount where to visit and get understandings of the lifestyles, the traditional customs of the people in a village of the Black H’mong called SinChai, then take bus back to Sapa (18 km by bus). Lunch and check in hotel. Overnight in Sapa

    Day 5. Sun 15/02/2009 ~ Sapa – Bac Ha Market – Laocai – Overnight train to Ha Noi

    A visit to Bac Ha market. Breakfast and the beginning of the day on which you visit a big market filled with many different hill-tribe peoples. This is the most colourful market in North Vietnam. At the market, you have chance to enjoy BacHa people’s simple but unique kinds of food with special wines made from rice, cassavas, corn and different sorts of fruits such as plumps, apples, peaches… talking to the minorities through the guide’s interpretation. Leave the market for the H’mong King’s house (King Hoang A Tuong) built by the French colonists and the Chinese in 1920. Return the town for lunch. In the afternoon, spend time visiting another village (BanPho village) Say good bye to BacHa and get back to Sapa. On the way back, drop in to see the Vietnamese and Chinese Harbour Mouth in LaoCai. Take the night train back to Hanoi

    Day 6. Mon 16/02/2009 ~Next morning ~ Overnight train – Hanoi – free to shopping

    At 5AM in the next morning, the train arrives. You will be picked up to go to your hotel in Hanoi where is located in the Old Quarter of Hanoi, Check in the hotel and relax before have shopping and visit Ha Noi in the afternoon.

    Day 7. Tue 17/12/2009 ~ Hanoi – Airport or City tour by your self

    Breakfast at the hotel and free time to do some thing need to be done until take the car go to the airport and take the flight back to your country and some continue shopping or visit Ha Noi on your own.

    Day 8. Wed 18/02/2009 ~ Hanoi – Airport – International flight

    Breakfast at the hotel and free time until take the car go to the airport to take the flight back to your country
